Dr. Li brings more than 35 years of Traditional Chinese Medicine expertise to IMC. Students of the former Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine are acquainted with Dr. Li, who served for 18 years there as professor, clinical supervisor, and clinical director.
Currently, Dr. Li provides acupuncturist services to cancer patients in the Wilmot Cancer Institute’s Pluta Cancer Center, of Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, while maintaining a private practice. It is our privilege to have Dr. Li at IMC to serve our patients in Ithaca and sounding areas via our online consultation platform. About Aizhong Li, PhD, L.Ac. Dipl.O. M.
Aizhong Li, PhD, L.Ac. Dipl.O. M. (NCCAOM) has many years of clinical experience in traditional Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. She was trained in China and awarded a PhD degree in Acupuncture and Tui Na and a master’s degree in medicine in Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine.
Dr. Aizhong Li came to the US in 1992 as a visiting scholar in Brown University and Harvard Medical School in her early years in USA and moved to Toronto Canada in 1997 and returned back to USA in 2004. During 1998-2004, Aizhong worked in The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences as a professor and (TMI) Acupuncture Clinic supervisor and clinic coordinator in Mount Sinai Hospital Joint Venture Acupuncture Clinic, Wasser Pain Management Center, Toronto, ON Canada; meanwhile, Dr. Li was an Adjunctive professor/instructor/clinical supervisor in Shiatsu School of Canada and Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). During 2004 to 2020, Dr. Li worked as a professor and clinic supervisor and clinic director in the teaching out program in the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (FLSAOM) of New York Chiropractic College (now called Northeast College of Health Sciences). Currently Aizhong is located in Rochester NY. In addition to her private clinic, she works for Wilmot Cancer Institute's Pluta Cancer Center, a component of Strong Memorial Hospital, provides acupuncture service for adults with cancers.
Dr. Li published more than 40 papers, attended many conferences as a speaker. In addition to the above, Aizhong has been working for NCCAOM as a Subject Matter Expert for years; She is also an Executive Council Member of the Board of Specialty Committee of Translation of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. (From 2016-present), contributed her knowledge to translate Chinese medical book (chapters) from Chinese into English; a Council Member of the 1st Board of Specialty Committee of Collateral Disease of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies since 2012. Dr. Li is highly regarded by patients and professional communities.
